About Me

I live in Singapore, have a passion for photography and sharing it here on hendralauw.com, a photoblog that I started in December 2005. It was brought online officially on the Christmas day.

I decided to choose a blog format, rather than the usual portfolio site, in order to motivate myself taking new pictures regularly, experiment with the vast opportunity digital photography has presented us and documenting life in the form of photography. Memory demands a picture.

I have gone fully digital since 2003. My current arsenal consists of two Canon bodies (20D and 1Ds Mark II) and a range of Canon lenses. The digital photography has been so convenient and excellent that I have never looked back.

Me Elsewhere

In January 2005, me and my wife were blessed with the arrival our first daughter, Nina. Wanted to share her photos with families and friends, rather than keep sending them emails, I set up my first photoblog in April 2005.

It was initially meant to also share with them my other photos. But after few weeks, I realized that I posted much more photos of my daughter than my other photos, and realized that I could use the photoblog to document her life. So, I decided to dedicate that photoblog only for my daughter. It's like her diary of growing up. It has photos of her first roll-over, her first solid food, her first steps .. etc.
